Welcome to the FCE!
We bring together faculty development opportunities from across CSUSB, including those from our Teaching Resource Center (TRC@FCE), Instructional Design and Academic Technologies (IDAT@FCE), and Faculty Mentoring Program (FMP@FCE) units, as well as those from the Office of Academic Research, Office of Community Engagement, the Center for International Studies and Programs, and Writing Intensive Program. We are located in the Faculty Center for Excellence, Pfau Library PL-4005.
While, space permitting, faculty may participate in more than one of the five eight-hour certificate programs below (Backward Design for Better Teaching, Teaching with Technology, Equity-Minded Teaching, Designing Good Assessments, and Student Engagement in Every Instructional Mode), they will receive professional development funding ($500) for only one of them during the 2023-2024 academic year.
In addition to the $500 for one certificate program, faculty can receive more professional development funds by successfully completing the Quality Online Teaching Program ($1,500) and the Next Generation Smart Classroom Cosynchronous Teaching Program ($500), as well as through the programs listed below from the FCE’s partner offices: Academic Research, Student Research, Community Engagement, the Center for International Studies and Programs, and the Writing Intensive Program.
